Fire door installations are one of the vital elements in any
building.
Their correct specification, installation and regular
maintenance are determined by both the Building
Regulations and various British Standards.
Providing third party certified fire doors are used they will
be deemed to satisfy the Building Regulations -
Approved Document B (2000 edition).
MBP fire door products are all independently third party
accredited to achieve the required performance standards.
The BWF-CERTIFIRE Fire Door and Doorset Scheme was
established by the fire door manufacturing industry to:
- Guarantee the product through assessing and
certificating the design and production process, testing
its performance and regular audit checks
- Offer a clear, simple method of tracing a fire door back
trough all the stages of manufacture and maintain the
guarantee.
- Bring together fire door manufacturers, their suppliers,
door converters, retailers and installers to work in
alliance across the supply chain
Most of the time, a fire door is just like any other door. But
if fire breaks out, it performs a vital and specific task by
burning at a particular rate to act as a barrier to hold back
the spread of the blaze. A fire door is carefully and
precisely designed, engineered and tested in accordance
with British and European Standards to ensure that if it is
ever called upon, it does what it is supposed to do. |
